Blank Mouse pointer periodically "stalls, jumps, & dances" across the
screen. I think it's because my HD is resetting itself. Any & all
comments/suggestions are appreciated.

If you used another mouse before and had to install software ,
uninstall it . I had a microsoft mouse before this logitech one , and
the ms software interfered with the logitech .

Besides the other suggestions of replacing/charging the batteries and
making sure you don't have other-brand mouse software installed, have
you actually looked at the sensor to make sure you don't have some lint
or [cat] hair surrounding or dangling about the sensor? All it takes is
a thin cat hair flitting about the sensor to make the mouse think you've
suddenly jerked the mouse. Get a pair of pointy tweezers to remove the
fuzz around the sensor rather than opening it up to clean it out.
