I recently formatted my WD 17gig drive using the WD disk supplied with the
drive. I set the jumpers on 4&6 which WD says makes it a 1 system drive.
Well I actually have two drives but being the anal person that I am who
worries about messing up, I always unhook the second drive before
formatting. My second drive is a 60gig WD and my system is old so I need
the Ezbios program running in order for windows to see the second drive.
Well EzBios wasn't installed and i'm wondering if it was because I had the
jumpers set to a 1 drive system position. If I unhook the second drive both
IDE and PSU and then keep the 1st drive's jumpers at 5&6 for dual master
will I be ok ? I'm kinda curious here what do jumpers actually accomplish,
can you keep a single drive system set as a dual master or will that drive
not function ?
