Hello there,

I have seen similar solid state drives. 512MB is at best 1/26th of the amount
of storage needed for a one hour DV-AVI file and at worst only 1/32nd the size
needed.

I think I'm right in saying I have seen 1GB drives (Dixons in the UK). They
look like a pack of chewing gums strips in size and shape. They are great foe
moving office files word documents and the like, not practicle for full video
files though.

Your best bet is to get a removable hard disk with caddy system or an
external hard disk with firewire.

With removable hard disk you get the added bonus that you dont have to
transfer files across media.

Nutty me.

I've got a 120 gig Fantom Drive that's pc/mac compatible. Some bonehead
at the studio told me it wasn't compatible with the macs and I never
questioned this.

Thanks for jump-starting my brain.
