Hi. I understand that JQuery is integrated (along with intellisence) in VS
2008 SP1. So I have downloaded and installed SP1 but I can't seem to find any
documentation anywhere about how to get started. I DON'T MEAN WITH JQUERY,
THAT I'LL LEARN FROM JQUERY.COM. I guess what I mean is, is there a specific
Jquery.js that I should use? Is it now somewhere in the VS directory
structure? Is there a prefered way to include it in my project?

In short, I'm looking for some simple document or sample that shows how to
get started integrating JQuery in a standard ASP.NET Web Site Project.

Any help most appreciated. Happy New Year!

Alex

Hi Alex,

Happy New Year!

JQuery will ship in Visual Studio in the long term. In the short term it
ships with ASP.NET MVC. You can see the JQuery script files in the Scripts
folder in an ASP.NET MVC Web Application.

If you want to use it in a normal ASP.NET Web Application you can download
the JQuery library from:

http://docs.jquery.com/Downloading_jQuery#Download_jQuery

And use it in your project.

I also recommend you read Scott's blog first:

http://weblogs.asp.net/scottgu/archive/2008/11/21/jquery-intellisense-in-vs-
2008.aspx

If you have further questions please feel free to ask.
