I recently uploaded, and then deleted a cheap digital camera to my computer.
Ever since I did this I am unable to open adobe reader through email
attachments. I can save, send to desk top and open with adobe reader, but my
computer tries to open it as a jpg. file, and goes to mgi photo studio, and
sends a message that says that "this is not a valid image file. The file
could not be read". Why is this happening?, and is there anything I can do
to reverse this? System restore will not let me go back far enough to help.
Help!

You can try this...
Right-click on any PDF file that's on the hard disk.
Choose OPEN WITH click CHOOSE PROGRAM.
Checkmark the "always use" box at the bottom.
In the list locate Acrobat Reader, select it and click on OK.

If the Reader isn't shown, browse to it - in the Program Files|ADOBE
directory (folder).

=================================
Look in controlPanel/Folder Options/ on the File Types tab, find and
highlight the .pdf extension. Below it should say Opens with: Acrobat if
not click the change button + select Acrobat then OK/ Apply/ OK
If Opens with is not there click on the advanced button.

what happened is that MGI photo studio probably changed some file type
settings. open acrobat from the start menu and it should prompt you to reset
those file types. If not you can do it through either a reinstall of acrobat
or opening 'My computer' -> 'tools' -> 'folder options' -> 'file types'
scroll down till you find PDF and change the association to acrobat.
