Running win xp home - for some reason, all of my jpg
graphics have changed from jpg's to quicktime files. I
have changed it back to open in windows graphic viewer,
but I would prefer to change the graphics back to their
original jpg format.I have tried looking everywhere in the
faq for something similar, but nothing came up. No
compression on graphics anymore. I have deleted all temp
files and cookies. Any help is appreciated.

Open windows explorer go to Tools | Folder Options | File Types Tab |
Locate the JPG extensions in the list and click Change to choose the program
that opens that file type.
Or Right Click | Opens With | Choose Program | Check box "always use the
selected program to open this kind of file"

I have already done this. while my files may open with the
picture viewer, in explorer, they are still described as
quick time files. I have no clue as to how this happened,
since all of my files were originally jpg types. Can I
change them back? Is it possible to do it automatically
without revisiting each and every file?

Thank you.

Paul, I have the jpg's opening in the windows picture
viewer as I want them. However, it is the files that i am
concerned about. I am trying to say that changing what app
opens these files is not changing the property of the file
itself. SOmehow the property of these files changed from
jpg to quicktime. even the screen you recommend (which i
have repeatedly used) suggests that the default for these
files is "quicktime". Changing the program that opens them
is not changing the property of the file back to jpg. Any
help on this?
