Can anyone tell me if this is possible?

I would like to open JPEG files from my e-mail (Outlook) or folders in
Windows Picture and Fax viewer UNLESS I open a JPEG in my Kodak software.

Is there any way to set my computer so that it will only access the Kodak
software if I open the JPG while I am in that software, other than that I
want to use Windows to view my JPGs.

I have tried to change the properties but it seems to be a all or none type
of change that occurs. It won't let me do both. If I choose Windows I can't
open in my Kodak software where my albums are stored. If I choose Kodak to
open everytime I open a JPEG in my emails it has to open my Kodak software.

Can I have the best of both worlds?

You would have to change the registry key for that association every time
you opened and closed your Kodak software. My suggestion would be to chose
Windows as the default and then when you are in your Kodak software open the
files from inside the software instead of from Explorer.

There might also be another solution. If you right click on the JPG file
and then click "Open With", you should be able to associate both programs to
the JPG extension, but if you wanted to open it in the non default way you
would just have to go to the "Open With" menu.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Eric.

What I had noticed was when I right clicked and changed the "open with" it
would change all the JPG's on my computer to what ever I had chosen. Not
quite sure how to choose two programs at this screen. I will play around with
it and see what I get.

Thanks!

When opening a file with the Open With dialog, uncheck the box that says
"always open with this program." The fly-out Open With menu that Eric is
referring to should start building a list of programs.

Thanks, I will try that.
