jpg or PDF over "hidden" but searchable Microsoft table?

I created a table in publisher that looks horrible on the website. I
converted it to a PDF, and it looks great on the site. I made a copy of it
for printing, at least. My site: DrugAwarenessAndPrevention.org (See
"Services," then click on "At Home Drug Tests." I'd like to "remove" (hide)
the table, and just display the PDF.

The problem is this: I want folks using search engines (Google, Yahoo, etc)
to be able to find my site from a search for the information in the PDF
table. I am told that search engines cannot read entries from jpg or PDF
files.
Is there a way to import the ugly Microsoft Word or Publisher table with all
of the information so that it is: hidden, but the information can be picked
up by search engines?

I hope this makes sense, and that someone can help.
Thanks,
Nancy

For Publisher, create a table in a page in FrontPage, then copy/paste data
from each cell in the Publisher document into Notepad, then from there into
the FrontPage table. Then apply styling to the table and contents (not
necessary if the table is to be hidden).

For Word, Export the table as a .csv file, then paste the .csv into
FrontPage, select it and convert to table.

If you hide the table, Google may penalise you for "keyword stuffing" - but
to hide a section of a web page use something like:

<div style="display: none;">
Stuff to be hidden
</div>

A .pdf will open in a new page or window - it cannot be embedded in an
existing page unless you use an iframe.

In my opinion, the table on the web page is perfectly OK, and looks a lot
clearer than that in the .pdf - I would prefer to print and see the web page
than the .pdf. The HTML markup can be improved using CSS - but there is
nothing wrong with the appearance.

I am not sure what you mean by "penalizing" our site. What would they do?
How many key words are usually reasonable per web page?
If I could add the names of the test kits, and possibly the drugs tested,
would this be too much?
If it is not too much to ask, what if I just have a web page on the site
that is a list of all the words that are special to our site- like
"trafficking", "addiction", "cocaine"
etc. Would people using search engines be directed to our site because of
that page? Or would they just be drawn to that page?
I really appreaciate your advice. Thanks for taking the time with a rookie!

If you use text on a page that is not visible, the search engines may
(usually do) penalize you by not listing your site.

"Penalising" in this context means it would appear much lower in the list of
pages found in a search than it otherwise would.

Nowadays, search engines use the page description and content, and ignore
keywords - but any perceived attempt (intentional or otherwise) to add
keywords to a site's content by hiding them may result in the page - or even
entire site - being penalised. The keyword meta tag (bearing in mind that
most search engines ignore this tag) should be limited to about 20 keywords.

A page containing just keywords, if it appeared at all in a search engine
results, would be just that - a page. Links on that page may get visitors to
your content, or they may judge your site on that page and leave. Good
content will keep visitors.

Thank you! I certainly don't want to be unisted! I will not hide any text.

Dear Ron,
Thank you so very much! I will work on the descriptons in FrontPage (under
Properties, right?). I won't try to hide any text, and if I add the
reference page, I understand the risks.
I will check out the SEO link you provided. Strangely enough, Yahoo hosts
our website, so it should be a perfect match!
