This seems to be a common problem for many, as I have seen
it posted 4 times in last two days of postings, and NO ONE
IS ANSWERING with a fix!
I am on athlon 1.1, 256 MB of ram, and get all browser
pics "out of focus", "muddy", "bleary" or what ever else
you want to call it. In each case, I have to hit the "SHOW
ALL ORIGINALS" each time to refresh the webpage with
clearer pictures. WHY IS THIS now, with IE 6, is it a
JAVA/ MSN VM isssue.... but also, how can we permanently
get clear pics without going through the extra downloads?

Thanks,

Chuck,

I had a somewhat similar problem on a new Inspiron laptop
from Dell running WinXP Pro. Same out of focus, muddy,
blurry problem with images in IE 6.0 SP1 on WinXP. But I
found nothing to clear it up, such as your manual
refreshes. The clue to my problem was that in IE the
image appeared 125% of native size when viewed in image
viewing programs, such as paint.exe. I assumed it was
therefore an IE setting, but found nothing in the GUI
options or even the registry. Then I happened to look at
the computer's general display settings (control panel,
display or right click on the desktop and click
properties). On the Settings tab I clicked advanced and
saw that Dell had set my DPI setting to 125% of normal. I
set it back to the Normal Size setting to get one-to-one
pixel-to-pixel mapping, restarted, and voila my problem
was gone.

Your problem sounds slightly different, so this may not
help, but it's something to look at. Good luck!
