JPEG's in HighMat Format

Can anyone tell me what the resolution will be of JPEG images displayed on a
HighMat compatible DVD player and an HDTV? I have an HDTV and I would like
to view my photos on it, but only if they are at a decent resolution.

I would assume that matters on what resolution you saved it in...
 
OK, my camera saves digital photos at 1600x1200 DPI JPEG format. My TV can
display at 1080 lines of resolution. So what would the maximum display
resolution be with a Panasonic Progressive scan DVD player that supports the
HighMat format? I assume it would not display at 1600x1200 even though that
is the resolution of the images in the files on my computer.
