Running Windows XP Home. Sometimes it happens that a downloaded JPEG picture
from the Internet will appear in My Pictures with only a generic thumb, a KB
content but zero dimensions! Will open only as a dot. The last one was 333KB
but 0/0 size. Just curious to know why.

Since no one answered this--A quick answer--
There are multiple forms and versions of a JPEG file.
The file showing/displaying an incorrect size has incorrect information
encoded in it, at least according to the JPEG decoder in use on your PC..Try
IRFAN Viewer (Free), and see if it will display the file.
To see the differences look at the file with a Hex editor, and compare it to
a file that has a correct size.
There are File utilities that will usually display such a file, and even
allow you to correct the display size data.

Thanks, Chuck. I have IRFAN and Quick View Plus installed. Next time that
happens I'll investigate.
