jpeg vs .art & bitmat

can any one help me with this? every time i attempt to
save a picture from a site to my pictures folder, it only
offers the type of file as *.art or *.bmp and these files
dont seem to show later when i want to preview them? is
this just a coincicence or a real problem. all i want to
do is save a picture to my file! or a real problem. all i

I tried this and it still doesn't work. I changed the
settings on AOL and deleted all the temp files from AOL
and explorer and it still will only give me BMP as a
choice. I really need to be able to save JPG pics as
JPG!!!!! Help ASAP please!!!!!
