I have used jpeg photos in business PPT presentations, but why when I take a 50K photo and paste it into a Powerpoint page does the file ballon to 500-1,000K ? Is there any thing I can do? I am about to buy a new high res. camera and I can imagine that this will become unmanageable.

Andy,
First, go into Tools--> Options and make sure that fast saves is unchecked
(it is on the save tab). Next, don't copy paste your photos. Instead, use
Insert--> Picture. Finally, go read the following FAQ pages about getting
your pictures the right size for use in PowerPoint:
What's the best resolution for images in PowerPoint screen shows?

What's all this about DPI and INCHES and RESOLUTION?
