JPEG Security Issue

I was informed by my system admin today that our company is stripping all jpg
imaged from emails due to a vulnerability in Microsoft operating systems,
including XP. I was told this would not end until Microsoft had released a
security patch for this problem.

Can anyone tell me when this is expected?
