Hello all,
This one is really stumping me! I have many many pictures in my website,
and they all work just fine, but suddenly this group of four pictures, which
are jpeg in format, will not show up in a browser or in preview mode (I use
FP 2002) - I have tried inserting them in different pages, deleting the files
and importing them again, pretty much anything I can think of, but these
pictures will not load. Any suggestions to rememdy this problem?

Use your image editor to open one of the images that won't display.
Check the image properties and make sure it has "Not" been saved in CYMK format.
It needs to be RGB format. CYMK is a printer only format, where RGB can be both.

The free IrfanView program can give you this information:

Thanks so much for your response - I was able to solve the problem by
changing all the jpeg's that weren't showing up to gif's, and for some reason
they work fine now. Doesn't solve the initial problem, but my page looks all
right again. So I apologize, but the page is looking normal again
(www.residues.com/C3.html). If anyone has any ideas still as to why jpegs
would not show up, please post them because the curiousity is still eating
away at me! On the page address above, you will see 4 thumbnails. It is
when these thumbnails, or hyperlinks were clicked to see the pages with the
enlarged pictures that the full size jpegs were not showing up. Thanks for
your responses.

It is not a good idea to change a photograph to a gif!!! Only logos and
images with fewer colors should be gifs.

make sure none of the jpgs had spaces or other characters in the name of the
file besides _ and -

Good suggetion.
Two common reason when that happens:
1. Bad html. Solution look at the HTML.
2. The link points to locoation which is not accesible. Solution, look
at the HML.

In addition to the other responses, sometimes a web server simply can't find
the file at some point, then caches that result even though the file is now
there (ie: it remembers it couldn't find it but neglects to check again
until later on).

Hope this helps,
