Jpeg picture won't appear in monitor after adding to timeline

Jpegs are supposed to be able to be used in WMM and I can drag the picture to
the timeline but it will disappear from the monitor once I have done this and
will not reappear when I select play.
Any suggestions? Thanks in anticipation....

Try right clicking on the picture and browse for missing file?
Has the picture got a cross on it?

Yes, .jpg images are compatible but sometimes
movie maker has problems with them. Converting
the files to .bmp before importing into movie maker
might improve the issue.
