jpeg layered files on an access form

Hi experts

Sorry to ask (what I imagine) is such an easy question -> but here goes.

I have created a table to link to cdr files (exported to jpeg)and when I
open the form the picture shows, but not all of it (in some cases). I have
created multiple layers (to remove the background) and only the base layer
displays on my access form.

I have used to code shown on the MS website to insert the form and it works
fine if there is only one layer in the picture but not if there are more.

JPEG doesn't support layers, Mick. Exporting as JPEG should merge the
layers, but you might try manually merging them before exporting them and
see if that solves the problem.
 
From an access non expert

A cdr file will always contain layers - unless there is only one text
segment or only "one" imported picture.

You "seem" to be using the cdr to remove the background - don't. It won't
work.

You may "hide" the background but will still be there - as you have found
out in a hidden layer.
Your path to the picture from access will link to whichever layer is on top
as this is the picture is a jpeg unless you merg the layers 1st (use control
G after selecting the whole thing)

If you want to remove the back ground and maintain the single lay then
export the file (your cdr as a "TIFF" - jpeg's are rubbish).

If you are working with cdr files then you almost certainly photopaint (it's
part of the same suite).

Open your new TIFF in photopaint then you have a number of options
Best option - create a mask of the background and delete - you MUST remove
the mask before saving.
Other options include - use the clone tool (this gives a better "edge") to
blank the section of the picture you don't want.
You could also use the eraser tool (this is difficult to get right and never
really works well)
etc
etc

"After" you have done what you want on the TIFF export it as a BMP into a
file folder then link this - just put the path in your access table.
