JPEG Images

I have a series of Logo's which are in JPEG format. They are of fairly good
quality and are approx 200k in size. When viewing them in Internet Explorer
they show as a "red X". If I open the images in MSPaint and save them as
JPEG's the size drops to about 30k (and the quality is reduced dramatically).
IE then displays them ok.

Does anyone know if there is a minimum compression ratio for JPEG images
that Internet Explorer will display?

I've just discovered that colour format of the files is CMYK which I believe
isn't supported in Internet Explorer.

I've converted them to RGB and everything is now ok...
