I am also getting the error message about source files. I have windows XP,
there is plenty of space on the drive. I have also "x"d out the boxes under
"tools - options".
My story board consists of 100-200 jpeg pictures that I have edited in
"Photoexpressions" with titles and captions. I have transitions on each
frame. Used music from a cd that I have and only have 3 title overlays. The
total length of the movie is a little less that 30 minutes.
So I guess my question is...I'm trying to get out of the error message and I
guess I might need to change my pictures from Jpegs to bitmaps. I don't know
how to do that :( Is this something I can do within movie maker? I don't
want to have to start all over again! This has taken me a month to do 30
min. This is my first time using movie maker and I'm getting very frustrated
and may not use it again if this does'nt work. Please Help!

In the first place...if your project is less than 300 still
pix...PhotoStory 3 would have been a better app.

PhotoStory 3 For Windows
http://tinyurl.com/4f869
or...
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/using/digitalphotography/photostory/default.mspx

As for converting the .jpg files to .bmp...that would
need to be done before importing into Movie Maker.
The freeware IrfanView can convert the files in a
batch.

(get the plug-ins too)

Thank you for the quick reply...I will check out these suggestions. I don't know what Photostory 3 is. Is that something that I would have with XP? Sorry I'm not real computer savy!

I posted a link for PhotoStory 3...have a look at it....

It's a free program you can download and install.
It was originally intended for Windows XP but it
will run on Vista.

Here's the link again.....

Thanks, I have looked at the site and will probably download it. My
question is...can I copy and paste my timeline from MM into photoStory?

No, you can't import a Movie Maker project into Photo Story 3... you'll need
to make story projects from scratch.
