Joystick card

I bought a new pc with an Intel Perl board and I don't have a midi/joystick
port for one of my peripherals. I'm running Windows XP Pro.

Could someone suggest a cheap card that I could use. I looked at the entry
level sound blaster card (

but it doesn't list XP as a supported platform.

Thank you

WIndows XP has support for this and most (if not all) the popular
Soundblaster cards. However if all you need is the gameport, any
cheap card with the port will do, you don't need to pay more for a
"Creative" labeled product. If you want a Creative card anyway,
here's one for $10 (scroll down to " Creative Labs Sound Blaster 128
PCI"):

Thanks, I think that's what I'll get. My board already has audio, I just
need a midi port

I can only assume, not be certain, that the card I linked, or any
other card for that matter, will have proper, legacy WinXP MIDI
support... I don't have much experience with MIDI peripherals.

You could also try a gameport to USB adaptor. Costs +/- 3 $.

I had thought about that before my original post, but found conflicting
reports, some saying it worked, others saying it didn't work well.
