Journal Entries

Even though I have gone into the options and turned on the
Journal capabilities, all it is recording are emails. I
have checked both Excel and Word documents as well, but
the Journal is not recording those documents; only the
emails. What am I missing?

Your journal entries probably are being entered - check the entry list view of the journal folder. The problem is that you need to link the journal entries for office documents to the contact. One solution is to manually find the journal entry in the entry list view, open it and then add your contact to the links collection with the contact button. The nice thing about the entry list is that it tracks how much time you have an Office document open so you can get a feel for how long you are spending on different activities which is helpful if you are needing to record billable hours or if you want to get a feel for how much time you are spending on specific contacts
