Hi there,

Following problem: I created a database with different
users and saved a new Workgroup Information File (WIF). My
experience is, that most databases are running with the
default system.mdw WIF. To avoid that everybody has to
search the Workgroup-Administrator-File and joining one
workgroup I would like to create shortcuts. I would
appreciate if someone can show me an exact example how it
has to be and not referring to the security FAQs. Is there
also a way leaving one workgroup by quitting the database?

Thanks in advance.

Your shortcut needs to be similar to...

"Full path to MSAccess.exe" /wrkgrp "Full path to MDW file" "Full Path to MDB"

The workgroup used when Access is opened is for that "session" of Access, not for a
particular file. That instance of Access will use the same mdw file until it is
closed. Closing just the file will not do it.
