I downloaded one file, splitted to few files, with names FILE.zip.001,
FILE.zip.002, FILE.zip.003
They downloaded OK (I assume), but what's with the three-numbered extensions
after the .zip? Not clear, what program has been used to split this files
and how to join this archive?

Thanks.

Well WinZip will join split ZIP files. Other ZIP utilities will probably
too. There are older versions of WinZip that doesn't quit (trial mode)
after X amount of days at:

http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=winzip

One with the Zip extension and it will find the rest of the numbered
ones as long as they are in the same directory.

Hello,

Probably WinZip was used, but many other zip utilities can be used too.

To open the zip file, try opening FILE.ZIP or file.zip.001 in WinZip (Not
free) or your preferred zip utility.

Not sure whether Windows Compressed Folders can handle it though, my guess
is no. If you can't find File.Zip, maybe you can try renaming File.Zip.001
to File.Zip and see whether that Windows recognizes it as a compressed
folder.

Note that I have not tried this before, so if it fails, just rename it back.

That's a set of "spanned" files, meaning they were broken up to live on
multiple CDs or floppies, whatever. Only the .ZIP file can be opened
successfully. Have them all in the same folder when you run winzip.
If it asks for one of hte files, just point it back to the folder where
that folder is. I think the process is, zip, then gets 003 where the final
index is located, then back to zip, then 002, then 003, and finally
assembly.

BTW, Winzip IS STILL FREE as long as you don't mind the screen nags.

It won't. The proper headers are missing.

It is? Nice! Although my registration key stopped working when v10 was
released. :( Although I think I got 10 years out of that key. :)

No one of this files have ZIP extension. On the other hand, it's not
looks that files have been damaged during downloads. Should I try
open last file first?

Are you SANTANDER? One of the split ZIP files should have the ZIP
extension. If you install something like WinZip, then open up the one
with the ZIP extension and the rest of them in the same directory will
automatically open up as one single ZIP file. Then you can do what you
want to with them. :)

Hello,

Thanks for the correction on the Windows Compressed Folders handling spanned
zip files.

However, WinZip is not free software. The evaluation version is only to be
used for 45 days.
http://www.winzip.com/elicense.htm

This is not free software. Subject to the terms below, you are hereby
licensed by WinZip Computing, S.L. ("WinZip Computing") to use for
evaluation purposes only one (1) copy of WinZip, on one (1) computer or
workstation, without charge, for a period of 45 days after you first install
WinZip on any computer or workstation. If you want to use this software
after the 45-day evaluation period, you must acquire from WinZip Computing
for a fee a single-user license or multi-user license for WinZip. Refer to
www.winzip.com for information about Standard and Pro license pricing,
multi-user licensing, and ordering options. Use of WinZip after the
expiration of the 45-day evaluation period without acquiring such a license
from WinZip Computing is outside the scope of this License and a violation
of U.S. and international copyright laws

If you go past that and continue using it, you will be violating the
agreement.
