I have a user who works from home and connects to our
network using VPN. I really need to take this machine off
the domain and put it back on. Do you think I will have
problems getting it back on the domain?

Any special reason why you need it to remove it from the domain first and
then rejoin it again?
I think you can only do that when checking the 'logon with dialup' at the
logonbox.

Thanks for the quick response. I haven't been able to
connect to this users machine for weeks now. I am using a
remote utlilty called Dameware because SMS is not
working. Dameware comes back with this response
that "there is a problem with the trust relationship
between the workstation and the domain" I have look on
the microsoft knowledge base and it says to disjoin and
then rejoin the domain. Right now this user can connect
to our domain and get emails etc but I can't get SMS on it
so that she has all of the latest updates that we push. I
was planning on taking a laptop home to try it first but
was wondering if anyone else ran across this.

You might look into using netdom the next time they are connected, though I have
never tried it in the situation you mention. --- Steve

Suppose you have a domain member named DOMAINMEMBER in a domain called MYDOMAIN. You
can reset the member secure channel by using the following command: netdom reset
domainmember /domain:mydomain You can run this command on the member DOMAINMEMBER or
on any other member or domain controller of the domain, provided that you are logged
on with an account that has administrator access to DOMAINMEMBER.
