Joined Workgroup, now password won't work

Hi,

I was a member of a domain before I joined a workgroup, and
now I cannot log onto my computer using my previous
username and password. I have tried all possible
combinations of username, computer name and passwords and
still no luck. The strange thing is that I was never
prompted to change or add a new password. I can swap out
hard drives and see the drive in question and most programs
and files, when set up as a slave, but I cannot see the
WINNT folder.
Is there any way to rectify this situation?

take the machine back to the domain IT admins and beg them to rejoin it to
the domain for you.
 
I would if the company was still in business. I bought the
laptop when the company went under.
 
then format c: and start off clean. you can not rejoin the domain without
the domain admin. if you know the local administrator password you can use
that to get in and create a new non-domain account and copy stuff from the
domain user profiles if you really need it.
