Hi Again,

Well, I strongly suspect that you can, BUT, I
would do some checking first.
I will go and have a look myself because I am
interested anyway. I came
close to buying a DVD Writer with built in
Satellite receiver last week. It
had a 40GB drive and that put me off at first, I
went back again and the
dammed thing had been sold. But I am told that
they will be on offer again
during the build up to Christmas....they were an
sale for £149 which would
be around US$250.

I will get back to you in due course (She who
must be obeyed has just
announced Dinner!!! What a life)

Hi there,

I am so sorry, with everything else going on here I have totally forgotten
about it. I will now go and dig out your message with the specs on and
start researching. Again, sorry about that, I don't like breaking
promises...I will be back as soon as I can

Hello again,

I have been waiting for an e-mail from Panasonic that will give me access
to their manuals...its supposed to arrive within a few minutes...their idea
of a few minutes is obviously not one held by the rest of the world....If
it has not arrived by tonight I will see if there is a different approach.

From what I have read so far...Computers are conspicuous by their absence
(In the sales blurb) So at the moment I am leaning towards "you can't do
it" but obviously I will not be sure until I get into the manual. There is
some stuff mentioning connecting your digital camera to it, and the general
style of writing is encouraging....As space on the web page containing this
was not at a premium I think its odd that computers were not mentioned at
all

I get the feeling as well, that the manual I am waiting to get access to
might be a technical resource3...which is great...what sort of manual came
with it?

I will obviously let you know how it all turns out.

Hi Raymond,

I have still not received the necessary info so that I can get at the
manual...very frustrating this. I will have another go at it in the
morning.

Hello Raymond,

Having read through the manual it seems to me that you cannot connect
your computer to this unit. There is no mention of being able to do that at
all. It seems that the unit is a DVD editing unit that can create disks for
use in the computer itself, or send video to a DV camera.

So to get video from the unit to your computer you must send it to the
DV camera first and then from the camera to the computer.

Its a pity
