I know where xp holds the files for the address book but where is the data
stored for the address book. Every time I suffer a system crash, I lose my
address book and would at least try to make a knowledgeable attempt to
recover the data contained for the address book so as to not have to
continually rebuild it each time.

What is the path to the actual data for the address book?
Is it hidden in a hidden folder? Just where is it?

Please reply to me directly instead of the grouped or at least cc me with
the reply.

Thanks,

Jim

I assume you are talking about Outlook Express address book. Just back it
up using the File>Export>Address Book along with your other files and
folders to removable media or another partition.

The data is stored in Whatever_Name.wab wab is the extension for Address
Book File.

%userprofile%\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book\Whatever_Name.wab

Open your Address Book | Help | About Address Book |
Shows the path and the name of the file

%userprofile% is usually C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name

Where is my address book stored?
