Jigsaw puzzle animation

I have seen animations were different points come up to fit as jigsaw puzzle
pieces but I'm not sure how to do. I'm a simple user so please be gentle

Making objects animate in PPT is really not that hard. What version of PPT
are you using?
 
I'm assuming you have at least XP!

Here's a start. Go to autoshapes more autoshapes and find the clipart that
looks like 4 pieces of a jigsaw. Ungroup the shape to get 4 seperate pieces
and apply an "after previous" peek in animation to each piece. See if that
looks right

Getting a picture on the pieces is not as easy as you might imagine! Set the
background as a picture (format background>fill effects >picture) place a
plain rectangle over the slide covering the picture and then with the shape
right click > format autoshape>color>background. If you get grey instead of
the picure apply a blank master to this slide.

With these basics you should be able to improve the look with other
animations or motion paths

Daniel,

I have a sample presentation that has a couple of slides that you might be
able to use. The best one has five pieces with text on them that you can
change. Already set up to animate. Holler back if you want it and I will
see about putting it up on my site.

you the basics of adding animation to textboxes, but the process is
basically the same for objects.

The key is to ungroup the puzzle clip art, as John mentioned. Actually, you
must ungroup it twice in PPT 2003 because there's an invisible shape added
to the background of clips when you ungroup them. Select the clip on the
slide and choose Draw|Ungroup. Then choose Draw|Ungroup again.

After that, you can select the individual pieces of the puzzle and animate
them. You can also change the fill and line colors if you wish. And, of
course, you'd want to delete the extra pieces you don't want.

It all sounds more complicated than it really is.

I have some some sample presentations describing how to draw and animate
jigsaw puzzles. But they are in German (though I think the pictures are
quite clear, even if you don't understand the language) and they are
