After looking at them all, this editor is the best I found for
multi-platform work:

Jext
http://www.jext.org/index.php?section=about

it has dozens of plugins, such as internal ftp, filemanger, spell
checker, export code 2 html,translation dictionary,html compression,
to name a few. As far as features, it is stacked. I (seriously!) think
that it can replace UltraEdit for me.

Nothing written in java can be the best. Universal rule.

I prefer jEdit to Jext myself, although it is mostly a matter of the
types of plugins that are available. http:\\www.jedit.org

Jack Shit? Yes, I know him. He lives next door.
Jack Shit's real name is Jack SCHITT!

Jack is the only son of Awe Schitt and O. Schitt.

Awe Schitt, the fertilizer magnate, married O. Schitt, the owner of
Needeep N. Schitt Inc. In turn, Jack Schitt married Noe Schitt, and the
deeply religious couple produced six children:

Holie Schitt, Fulla Schitt, Giva Schitt, Bull Schitt, and the twins:
Deep Schitt and Dip Schitt.

Against her parents' objections, Deep Schitt married Dumb Schitt, a high
school dropout.

After being married 15 years, Jack and Noe Schitt divorced.

Noe Schitt later married Ted Sherlock and, because her kids were living
with them, she wanted to keep her previous name. She was then know as
Noe Schitt-Sherlock.

Dip Schitt married Loda Schitt and they produced a son of nervous
disposition, Chicken Schitt.

Fulla Schitt and Giva Schitt were inseparable throughout childhood and
subsequently married the Happens brothers in a dual ceremony.

The Wedding announcement in the newspaper stated that Schitt-Happens
wed. The Schitt-Happens children were Dawg, Bryd, Hoarse, and lastly
Bull.

Bull Schitt, the prodigal son, left home to tour the world. He recently
returned from Italy with his new bride, Pisa Schitt. Their only son,
Tough Schitt, became a professional wrestler
and later moved to Minnesota to pursue a career in politics.

Now Ain't that Some Shitt, but that's another story...
