I'm new here. I understand there was a discussion here about jetaudio and
haven't figured out how to access it. I notice several people here
recommending it. I've read that it has spyware incorporated and I'm
wondering how users are getting around that.

I also wonder if anyone has tried the dbpower amp and how that compares to
jetaudio?

During auto updates, it periodically connects to the Microsoft server.
The connection is encrypted and data of some sort is sent out. The two
URLs identified so far are:

207.46.249.190
207.46.249.222

So, make sure Auto Update is unchecked and add the two URLs to your
firewall. If there are any other unauthorized connections, no one has
found them yet.

I agree with the other poster that JetAudio is a huge resource hog. When
I was using it for Real Audio, I was constantly running out of resources
and having to reboot.

LOL
Anything will work if it's gets enough resources. ;)

I don't know....I'm downloading a program from the net and watching an
avi video while that's going on and my resources say I'm only down to
67%. Not bad considering!

For me, it was the accessing of *multiple* streaming files in a row that
was the killer. One file was okay - either video or audio. But if I
wanted to, say, listen to 6-12 songs in a row, I had to be Very. Careful
that I closed all my other programs. Otherwise the "GDI" resources would
zero out. I'd still have some "User" resources left, but my system would
freeze.
