Jerry, can you help re: batteries in general ?

Sorry to bother you, but I have an old police scanner &can use either
alkalines, or rechargeable cells. i looked up the product & under
accessories, it sells a nimh aa cell for 11 bucks, & says this:"1.2v 1500mah

I can't find one @ 1500 mah - can I get one with a 2000 or 2500 mah ? or
should i go les, down to a 1000 or 800 ?

The mah means "milliamper hours", and it has nothing to do with hurting your
device.....The larger the mah the longer it will last between charges, so
always go for the biggest that will fit/do the job. They all put out the
same voltage, and the device will draw whatever current it needs until the
battery dies, so the larger the mah, the longer the battery will last.
