JavaScript still haunting me...

I am still having the same problem with JavaScript, in which I can't open a
link with "javascript:" in it. The browser will act as if it is loading a
new web page, but then it seems to hang. The computer still works normally,
but I can't stop the browser loading. I have had to work around this
problem by copying and pasting the address in my "Address" bar. Can anyone
tell me how to fix this JavaScript problem?
 
I, too , have this issue and am not a very experienced
user. Could anyone help by being a bit more specific on
the "av issue" and what I should be looking for there?
