Javascript problems in win2000

Based on my reading the hundreds of threads in this
Newsgroup, there is a problem with or in win2000,
regardless of what sp is installed when trying to run a
Javascript. All my XP workstations run the scripts, all
my win200o sp4 workstations do not. I have examined or
tried all of the fixes I've seen so far. I still looking
for THE solution.
1)KB 281679 . Ran all the options, all were correct.
2) Downloaded all 3 versions of the VM on the
Troubleshooting JAVA in Netscape 4_x and IE.htm page. No
fixed.
3) I've run the test from
http://www.fitwise.com/testjava.asp it says that java
applets can be run, but again its a javscript thats not
running.

What is missing. I can certainly reinstall IE but since
no one seems to know what breaks it to begin with, it
might be a constant reinstall solution.

Who's got the answer? Thansk for the help!

I Finaly resolved the issue. The problem in all our

Win2000 wkstations was that we were using IE 5 sp2. When
we updated to IE6 sp1, everything functioned as it should.
