JavaScript Not Executing

I had to reinstall XP on one of my PC's.

I have the Sun JRE installed and applying all the IE 6
patches, I am still unable to run Javascripts in the
browser. A specific example is from the Weather.com site,
none of their JavaScripts will run.

There was a solution posted a few months ago that said to
reinstall IE SP1, but now IE is saying that I am on a
later SP and cannot reinstall SP1.

All Internet Scripting options are Enabled.

Anyone have any other suggestions?

P.S. It sure would be nice if Microsoft would give it's
end-user clients assistance in resolving these problems.
I can understand not helping the developers, but the end-
users are being caught in the cross-fire.

The JRE is for Java, which is different from Javascript.

Some of the script links open new windows. Do you have a popup blocker
installed (including NIS or Google toolbar)?

P.S. It sure would be nice if Microsoft would give it's
end-user clients assistance in resolving these problems.
