I have switched back to IE6 after struggling with IE7. (I have a dial-up
connection and apparently IE7 doesn't like dial-up). While using IE7, I got
an error message whenever I clicked on "Off Line" in the dial-up connection
window. A small window appeared with the following message "e=[object
Error]". The same message appeared even though I simply cancelled the dial-up
connection window. In addition, under my File tab, Work Offline was now
checked (whether I chose work Off-line or simply cancelled dial-up.

When I switched back to IE6, everything worked OK, except that the
unpleasant "Off-line" behavior carried over and is still plaguing me. It was
never there before I tried IE7. Can someone please tell me how to rid myself
of the error message ( AND the checking of Work Offline under File even
though I simply cancel the dial-up connection window)?

Incidentally, this unpleasant behavior is not present when I go through the
same process in Outlook Express.

Hi Shrdlu,

Contact your Internet Service Provider... It appears that they have a
connection script that is supposed to be run during the dial-up handshake.
You may have to re-run the Connection Wizard with their assistance.

Regards.

Rob, thaks for your response. I did contact an AT&T Chat agent.
Unfortunately, she clearly had no idea what I was talking about. I'll keep
trying.
