JavaScript driving me insane

For the last few weeks I keep getting a message that tells me either my
JavaScript is turned off or I need to download the latest version of Flash
Player, when I try to open vidoes on sites like My Space or Face Book. The
Flash Player is updated however I am just not familiar enough with JavaScript
to go into the settings and se waht is messed up or changed. Can anyone
tell me where/how to check the settings and what they should be?

I also have a constant yellow warning symbol in the lower left corner of my
sys tray that tells me the page is done loading but with errors. The error
always seems to be "invalid character" and the error code is different most
of the time.

Help!!!!

Same thing's happening to me. Anybody know what's what?
