Despite using pop up controls offered by AOL I was hit
with 20-25 pop ups per hour. AOL suggested I run Mcaffee
and Spybot. I did both and deleted a number of files
suggested by Mcaffee. I solved the pop up problem but now
cannot use anything requiring Java. I get a prompt
indicating that I must download Java Virtual Machine.
Found a place to download this but get an error message.
Any ideas? suggestions? If I insert and install the
original Windows disc will this remedy the situation?

Java Virtual Machine is a Microsoft product that they can
no longer leagally support, so it is not available for
download anymore. It is basically the Java for Internet
Explorer. You will have to download a different Java
program, I would suggest Sun's Java (they invented it and
sued Microsoft for Virtual Machine). You can get it from
www.java.com
