I'm new to XP and just getting familiar with it. Every time I boot
up, I get a nag screen directing me to a Java web site.
Any idea why this pops up and clues as to how to get rid of it?
Is it something I need to take action on?
Thanks.

And that Java web site would be? Is it a copy of IE that appears with the
nag or web site, or is it a regular application window?
Tried using msconfig.exe to disable startup programs, then enable them one a
time, reboot, and see when the problem reappears?
Tried run anti-spyware, like Ad-Aware and Spybot, to see if you got your
computer infected?
Do you have anti-virus software? Have you ran a full virus scan using a
recently updated copy of your anti-virus software?
Does the popup appear after you start IE? Does it appear when IE is not
loaded? Does the popup window say "Windows Messenger" in its title bar?
