hello, can anyone tell me where to find this on microsoft so I can install it
if I really need it?

It's not available from MS, it's a Sun product. That version is completely
outdated and is a serious security risk. Get the latest version.

You can perform an online install or offline line install for the Java
Application.
Pay attention for the installation and select Custom install to see what you
really want to install as there are lots of feature which you may don't need.

do you know what the latest version would be, and if this is only available
from sun as well?
I cant understand it but I have reinstalled my os and the reinstall disks
from toshiba
installed the java se 1.4.2 in my programs, but I deleted it following some
sugestions in the news group, what does this stupid thing do anyways and do I
really need it? thanks again
