JAVA script error and IE 6

Hello,
I use Windows 98 SE and IE 6. I use webmail in Lithuania , which is based on
Sun Java Messenger Express 6.1 When I click "attach" button , I always get
this:

JavaScript erro
http://pastas.omni.lt/comp_fs.html?&rtfPossible=true&security+false&lang=en&charset=escaped_unicode, Line 1527
Object doesn't support this property or method

Today I downloaded Mozilla firewox and everything works OK. This means the
problem is in IE 6. I downloaded some updates, but maybe anybody knows where
exactly the problem is? I would prefer use IE, not Mozilla.
Many thanks.

I too prefer to use IE because it is faster, but this is likely an
example of a Javascript bug in IE and, if so, there is nothing you can
do about it.

Jerry, I've checked this mail from other computers- everything is working
OK. But these other computers run on Windows XP (my Windows 98 SE). But IE is
the same -6. Maybe is it worth to redownload IE6? But how to do it? Will I
lose my favorites removing old IE? And what about Outlook Express? Is it
integrated with IE?

Java and JavaScript have nothing to do with each other.

Go to Tools | Internet Options | Advanced.
Check the box to Disable script debugging.
Uncheck the box to Display a notification about every script error.

2b. Start>Run>Regsvr32 jscript.dll

There is no "Advanced" in my IE Tools/Internet Options. Only as I mentioned

Restore All Tabs under Internet Options
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/iegentabs.reg

If the Advanced tab is missing you probably are infested by scumware.
See
Dealing with Unwanted Malware, Parasites, Toolbars and Search Engines
http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/unwanted.htm

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
won't. Also, each needs to be updated with the program's update function
before every use, even when just downloaded. There's also a lot more to do
than just those two programs. CWShredder is also available here:
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs_edits/cwshredder.zip
**Post your HijackThis log to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/ or the Spyware forum at
http://forum.aumha.org/ for expert analysis, not here.**
Alternative download pages for Ad-Aware, Spybot, HijackThis and CWShredder
may be found on this page:
http://aumha.org/a/parasite.htm.
CAUTION!!!!! Before you try to remove spyware using any of the programs
below, download a copy of LSPFIX from any of the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html
(if your OS is Win2k or XP) The process of removing certain malware may kill
your internet connection. If this should occur, this program, LSPFIX, will
enable you to regain your connection.

If nothing there helps, please post back to this thread.

None of these things helped. What about deleting IE 6 and redownloading it?
Will I lose my favorites? Is IE associated with Outllok Express and will OE
be deleted also?

You _shouldn't_ lose your favorites. Back them up first with IE's File |
Import and Export.

It also should not affect OE, but see
