When I'm on a website and I click on some link that involves Java, the link
never works; nothing at all happens. I know it's a Java problem because the
taskbar shows the description of the link, and it always starts out with
"Java..." I've looked at Internet Options | Advanced and I've checked off
everything that I figure should make these Java links work. But they don't.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! It's driving me nuts. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply. I have played a lot with the security setup, but it

seems not to be the problem. I think it is some part or plug-in to ie6 which

are missing. Have also tied to reinstall ie6 and sp1 as well, used Regsvr32

command to reinstall parts of the software and ran IEFix.exe too. Nothing

has helped so far.

Also visited seveal Qxxxxx's concerning the problem and executed the

recommendations mentioned in the papers in MS Knowledge Base. Still not

found a solution. Please help.

I know it's a Java problem because the taskbar shows the description
of the link, and it always starts out with "Java..."

If you can see something in the status bar it is more than likely starting
with javascript: which has nothing to do with Java. FYI an external
signal that Java is involved would be a message in the status bar
which says something like "applet starting..."
