I am currently taking online classes at UMUC. The login
page requires the lastest version of JVM which I've had
installed and working on my computer for several months.
Suddenly (two days before final exams), the java applet
that controls the login page stopped working for me.
It's not the site because I was able to logon to UMUC on
my work computer. I enter my username and password, the
applet attempts to initialize my classes...then Internet
explorer 6 closes. I have all IE6 updates, have
uninstalled and reinstalled JVM, disabled Norton Firewall
and Antivirus software (while I tried to log on), cleared
cookies and history, and went through a whole series of
browser adjustments led by the UMUC Webtycho technician
but nothing worked. They are working on screen shots
from my computer now but I'm not sure that they will come
up with anything. Any ideas?
