Nicole

Ever since I downloaded this program, some programs using
java do not load. I get a blank page with a red X. I have
called Java and my service provider and NO ONE can help.
Does anyone have this problem, and how did you fix it??

Thanks!

Hi

Install latest Java from Sun

www.java.com

Today I removed Java, re-installed the newest version,
cleared my cache, and went through a zillion steps with
both Java and my service provider. I had to have removed
something when I ran this microsoft spyware.
14 threats were removed.. ever since then, the problems
started!
I also ran the other three tool ( tracks, system
explorer, and browser hijack) if that helps!!

I use XP, and have a Sony 120 GB 2.2 GHz computer.

I am so desperate, my online college courses start soon
and I can't access the pages with Java!! :(

it??

Are you running particular Java applications that you need to use to see the
course material?

In some cases, a Java based application will install its own private java
version. If a file from one of these caches has been deleted, reinstalling
Java for the OS won't fix it. You'd need to reinstall the application
itself.

OK.. I truly appreciate all the help, but still no luck.
I would like ANYONE who really knows computers to advise
if I should use "system restore" before February 10 (
when I downloaded the program)
I was hoping that whatever program was erased would be
restored. Please give your imput.. Thanks!

If your problem related to running Microsoft Antispyware, Scanning your
system, and, as a result of that scan choosing to "remove threats."

And

one or more of the files involved in "removing threats", perhaps because of
a false positive, resulted in this issue with Java.

System restore should fix this. It will also put back into place any
spyware you'd removed.

From your descriptions, I can't predict. I think it would be worth trying.

Plun,
Firefox may not be the answer. Some of these blackboard type apps are very,
very particular in browser and browser settings. I go thru that pain every
semester.

Hi

- Have you tried Firefox ?

- You can also try Avant Browser

http://www.avantbrowser.com/

It is not dangerous to try these....... ;)

- About your problem with IE i suggest this protocol and a
forum in step 7
which using HijackThis logs for problem solving.

Hi Nicole. I have had this "problem" as well. I had my
security settings set pretty tight, but allow beans and
Java applets in and Java VM allowed. But I was having this
Before MSAB.

Here are other apps that may have affected: Secretmaker
(several versions installed then un-installed);Win
Patrol;StopZilla;S&D updated;SpywareGuard;SpywareBlaster.

So my question to you is did you ever run ANY(especially
secretmaker) of these programs **while** Java Console was
being displayed? (not that I know yet what is doing
this, but I need your imput to help track it down). Also
make sure the sites you desire are on your safe list
(w/privacy tab) and cookies allowed for those sites. Some
of the red"X's" may be third party ads that load more
beans and applets, and you are blocking them. Also if you
are blocking Macro Flash Player some red X's will occur.
