Java problem?

On certain web pages, instead of seeing images, I get a
small box containing a colored circle, square and triangle.
I do not have this problem when using Netscape 7.1. I
have reinstalled IE6, but the problem remains. I would
like to fix the problem or go back to IE5.5. How can I
accomplish either of my goals?

"On certain web pages..." isn't much to go on, but I'll give it a try.

The symbol you have described is the generic representation for a missing
<object>. IT *might* be Java, but it might just as easily be Flash or
ActiveX. Assuming it *is* a Java problem, check here:

If the page noted above does not resolve your issue, please post back with a
URL that you are having problems with. Then we can tell for sure what is not
working.

Again, you haven't provided enough info. Try Add/Remove in Control Panel. If
that doesn't help, post back with mention of what your OS is, as well as what
has already been tried.
