I downloaded the latesr sun java about a month ago. I was
browsing my files and came across the java file. I
noticed a file named java for netscape. I don't use
netscape I use IE. Sometimes I have problems with java
errors, like not supporting a page or site. Can someone
please let me know if netscape is the problem?

The java virtual machine will plug in to many browsers, including netscape.
The Netscape plugin file is probably what you are seeing - if you arent'
using Netscape, then this isn't being used. If you are having problems with
Java sites, it is probably because the site was designed to target the
Microsoft Virtual Machine, which supported methods that the Sun spec didn't
include. (This ended up in a bit of a lawsuit.)
