Hi Pontke
two problems:
Everytime I start explorer I get MSN Messanger error saying "it has
encountered unexpected problem and needs to quit", but IE does open
successfully.
Try the following and see if it helps:
This solution should work for most firewalls, provided the access is not
restricted by domain name, and access to regedit is possible.
Click on Start --> Run
Type in "regedit" and then click OK (without the " )
Navigate through the registry editor to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\MSNMessenger
Select the "Server" key, Right click, and select "Modify"
Change the value data to:
gateway.messenger.hotmail.com:80
This will connect MSN on port 80, the http port, is working perfectly for me
behind a draconian ISP firewall.

More severe problem is that java applet associated with interacting buttons
at various websites does not work. E.g., when I am trying access my company
webmail and putting my email name and press "GO", it does not go thru and
indicated "DONE" without doing anything. So, I can not access the next
page/or move forward. Any advice.
Try this:

If these steps do not resolve your problem, please post back to this thread
with the details and any error messages.
Hope this helps
