I have a new Dell with Windows XP and Jasc Photoshop and I
have a Sony DSCP52. When I load my pics onto the computer
they come up in the Photoshop. They are grainy and blocky
looking. They did not come up that way on my old
computer - were always clear. Can anyone tell me what I
might be doing wrong or how to work with Photoshop to make
them appear clear as nothing I've tried seems to work.
Thanks

You have a 3.2 MP camera and the images should
not be *blocky*. This usually indicates that you have
a very low resolution file and you are seeing the
individual pixels. Is it possible that your camera
settings need to be adjusted?

If...for example, you have set the camera to create
640x480 images for e-mail...you are only getting a
very low resolution image. It's best to set the camera
on the best settings and resize for e-mail after you
download.

Check your display properties setting. Right click on the desktop and
choose 'properties', click the settings tab and make sure it's set to at
LEAST high color, preferably true color (might be called millions of colors,
24-bit, 32-bit).

I assume it's Paint Shop Pro...Jasc doesn't make a Photoshop. I don't know
if there are any settings in PSP that could be wrong, but you could try
opening the photos in something else if changing the display settings don't
fix it. You could download Irfanview and open the photo in there, which
would tell you if it's something in the computer, your camera is set wrong,
or something is set wrong in PSP.
