Japaneese IME

I wrote a custom text editor.
Now I have some japaneese customers who have a problem with it.
Apparently, according to my understanding of what they said: There is an IME
window and when they used it to enter text, characters are doubled.

What is this IME window / tool?
How could I have it on my computer?
Any related tips?

Under the regional settings of the control panel, you will see the installed
languages. To get the Japanese IME you need to install support for Asian
fonts. (Japan is in Asia). Then you can select the IME. If there are
multiple choices for Japanese IME then you should contact the people who are
saying there is a problem to see what IME they are using. If you install a
different one and cannot recreate the problem that probably won't help much.

I haven't time to try it out yet, but it seems to perfectly answers my
question, thanks :-)

BTW, when you told me that Japan was in Asia I had a good laugh!
I mean who don't kow that?

I gave it a try but nothing happened!

I mean I installed Japaneese suport, then I added Japaneese to the language
bar, there was even a configuration dialog box which asked me which IME I
wanted to add to the language bar (I choose japaneese).

Then I selected japanese in the language bar.
But when I opened the notepad and hoped to be able to type some random
japaneese characters, all I get was some random english characters.
Also I was expecting a little input window which didn't show.
What else could I do, apart from choosing Japaneese in the language bar?
