WellI have just kicked a TESCo bag and thought....mmmm thats abit heavy/strange...Anyway So I picked it up....Shock fricking horror its full of money...I am at home now, aftr doing a Ben Johnson and forgetting bout bred and milk.....I haave just counted the contents....

Are you sitting...??? £3500...What do I do...?

Put ti in my sky rocket or caal the old bill as it is clearly drug money..???

Do the right thing - call the cops.

Don't think about keeping it. You are probably on some CCTV footage and it's amazing how you can be traced from one CCTV to another.

Also, if it's the Mafia they will find a way to trace you.

Do the right thing. :thumb:

Its a hell of a lotta money..

But yeah you probably on cctv somewhere..

And besides if you hand it in to the old bill if it don't get claimed in 3 months I think it is the moneys yours legally..Just depends if you wanna sweat for 3 months..

I would probably hand it in, but then I am an idiot.. :D

I agree..Its atasty thought though..An hey if them in bklue don't find the owner, its mine after 6 months anyway....

Its down to your personal concience really....it may be drugs money...but I doubt a dealer would just 'lose' it, or it may have been dropped by an OAP and be their entire savings.

I would hand it in, but as I said at the begining its up to you - but remember it could be classed as 'Theft by Finding' if you make no proper attempt to find the owner ;)

If you hand it in, and if its not claimed within a certain time you can claim it....if so just make sure its properly recorded and you get a receipt.

I'd 2nd that, and give the police a call - it's not yours and you know it :) I'm sure it's not some little old ladies that lost her live savings (edit : just seen Adys post - maybe it was a little old ladies ;)), but it's not yours either - and if worst came to worst it could come back to bite you in the bum (so to speak!).

You may even get to keep it if it isn't claimed :)

well if you are serious and really do have it then yes take it police. makes sure you get a receipt

If it's bad money then no one will claim it anyway

Problem is you will have to wait approx 6months, your choice!

If you do end up getting it then make a donation to a police charity for kids or summat :D

Another thought you could build a really great computer for crunching :)
A couple of quad cores will do nicely lol

I used to be old billso know about receipting everything...?

Erm if I get to keep it I shall make a substantial controbution to Great A street child cancer...oh and OCUK....

Jokes aside though I am about to call the police...The thought of camera's and Mafiahas got me thinking....

Makes my £10 note I found this morning look like paper ... err, no, I ain't handed it in.

If you have to ask us what to do, you clearly need help ... I'll just go get me white coat. ;)

Did it cross your mind that it may be some business' takings, and they err, lost it?

Anf f*ck me..Yes it did vross my mind as to it been a bussiness that dropped their money,,,But how thick was the person taking it to the bank,,,Oh and Securicor collect of £1000 free of charge....

I have counted it a million times..Its drug money..If it were just 20's i'd say sommit else....Its every note....lool

Alright, alright, seriously, I dunno.

My first reaction would be to keep it.

But.

Things do have a habit of coming back to bite you in the bum, strange but true.

You honestly have no idea how that money was raised, it may be drugs, it may be charity money, it maybe somebody's just sold their motor and was on their way to the bank.

If I knew for sure it was villain's money I'd keep it, clean concsience.

But, I'd forever be wondering and the guilt, concious or subconcious, would not play easy with me.

In short - I dunno. You do what you feel is right.

Did you really find all that wonga? Or is this just a test? ;)

FWIW, I've been the recipient of people going out of their way to do some good on quite a few occasions :thumb:

If you do hand it back, you've not lost out at all - you just didn't gain. However, because you don't know where the money came from in the first place there may be a sorry story behind it. I don't know what sort of sitation would exist where someone would carry that sort of money about in a plastic bag... the only person I knew that did that was my grandad who didn't trust banks (turns out he was right after all ;)).

My mother in 1955 found a bag containing £80.00She handed it in to the police and was rewarded from the owner with "THANKS" that was all she had? Big deal:mad:
remeber £80.00 then was a lot of money..
So? Think about it I know what I would do?

The 'Thanks' should have been accompanied by a fiver, at least.

Which brings me back to the first comment I made in this thread ;)

I must stress money isn't everything, I truly believe that.

But sometimes it sincerely helps ;)

I have my 2 girls and and my boy and would never give them up no matter how big the money was......??

Go to your local Police station & explain where you found it etc.
They may ask why you did not come in sooner!
But it's not your money so hand it in.
