Has anyone had any experience with this utility. The specs look good and I
have seen some good feedback on it; however, when I try to find the author,
IZSoftware, on the Web I hit a blank. Makes me a bit suspicious.

I must go down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide
Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;
And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,
And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

The website is slow, bot you can download the program from the
german mirror (google). The only problem that I had woth the
program is that the option "extract here" creates subfolder, and
there is no real "extract here" option.

I agree, that's the only problem with the program. Other than that, its
excellent.

I never noticed, but I don't find it a problem - I always download to a
folder created just for that, and when I extract I don't want all the files
appearing there, so I aleays use the "extract to..."one downstream" option.

Accepted it might not fit your methods, but it segued seamlessly into mine.

Hello,

the author, IZSoftware, on the Web I hit a blank. Makes me a bit

I loved it with Win98, but as I switched to Win2K the context
menu items were gone. I cannot get them back, with no reinstall
or option. What a pity.

I now use ZipGenius, but don't like the icons, and cannot change
them permanently...

Thorsten

I have installed it on Win98SE and it works OK for extracting files using it's Explorer like interface. However, it doesn't recognise compressed files in Windows Explorer so the right click context menu only ever allows the files to be compressed, ie. no "Extract ..." options.

Nor can I get it to create a compressed file of any type/format. No error msg or whatever, just a flash of the screen and nothing else.
